Alan Fonteles Cardoso Oliveira (Maraba, August 21, 1992) is a Brazilian Paralympic athlete, champion paralympic athletics. Amputated of both legs below the knee is specialized in the sprints, usually competing in class events T43.
Paralympic athlete became internationally known in 2013. With three gold medals in the 100, 200 and 400m, and a silver in the 4x100 relay race, Alan was one of the highlights of the World Paralympic Athletics, held in Lyon, France. After staying nine months away from his homeland, Alan Fonteles returned to Belém and signed a new sponsorship contract with a company in the area of gas.
Born with a congenital disability and then seemingly unsolvable - his two legs have not developed beyond a few centimeters below the knees. As a consequence, in theory, he could never even walk.
The life story of Fonteles fully demonstrates the unlimited possibility of overcoming for those who do not accept succumb to misfortune.
